FEED THE TOWN: There will be a free meal Thursday at 11 a.m. (while supplies last) at the Railyard Restaurant in downtown Elkins, sponsored by Summit Church and the Railyard Restaurant.
FREE MEAL: Free Thanksgiving dinner at Parsons Senior Center on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be meals on site, take out and delivery. Everyone is welcome. For more information, please call Carroll Precht at 304 478-4018.
USED BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library hosts a Used Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. The location is the Old Library on Davis Avenue. The donations collected will be used to finance the construction of the new library.
CRAFT SHOW AND BAZAAR: The Elkins Christian Academy’s 10th Annual Christmas Craft Show and Bazaar will take place December 2-3. Friday, December 3, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. seats are available.
HOLIDAY ARTISTS’ MARKET: The Arts Center Holiday Artists’ Market will take place on December 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday December 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Arts Centre, l Park Street, Elkins. Local artists sell pottery, prints, photos, textiles, baskets, jewelry and other original handmade items. Parking is available behind the Arts Center next to Elkins City Park. CRAFTS, BAKES AND LUNCH: at Orlena United Methodist Church in Gilman from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, December 2 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3.
FESTIVAL OF CAROLS: The Davis & Elkins College Concert Choir will perform Festival of Carols at 7 p.m. on December 4 at the Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. The evening will feature a Christmas message and musical selections. A reception will then be held at the Joni and Buck Smith Arts Forum at the Myles Center for the Arts. The event is free and open to the public. A voluntary offering will benefit local pantries.
CHRISTMAS DINNER HAMPERS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting requests for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates and times: Monday, December 5 through Friday, December 5. 9, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residence, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be completed in the office and cannot leave the building. Nominations do not guarantee that you will be chosen to receive a dinner. The baskets will be distributed on December 17. DINNER AT TURKEY: will be held November 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gaines Community Building. There will be a draw for first, second and third place cash prizes, as well as a door prize. Proceeds will go to the Salem Church of the Gaines Community Building. For more information, call 304-924-6727.
CHRISTMAS CRAFTS FAIR: Grace Episcopal Church, 212 John St. in Elkins, is hosting a Christmas craft fair, bake sale and yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 3.
PEPPERONI ROLL LUNCH: Will be held at the Homestead Community and Event Center on December 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or while seats last. The lunch menu for purchase includes two homemade pepperoni rolls, The Southern Kitchen baked mac and cheese, applesauce, a brownie and a drink. Drive-thru, dine in or take out. Children’s menu with a pepperoni roll also available. Proceeds support the community center.
THE RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIREMENT SCHOOL PERSONNEL: will hold its December meeting, Friday, December 9, at the Randolph Technical Center. The EHS Choir will perform for the group at the EHS Auditorium at 11:45 a.m., with lunch at the Tech Center at 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required before December 1st. CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: The American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Party on December 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. for children 12 and under. This will take place at the Calain pavilion, upstairs, 4th street entrance. There will be a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, food, goodies and crafts.

CRAFTS SHOW: The Davis & Elkins Nursing Program will host a Holiday Craft Show on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Memorial Gymnasium on the D&E College campus; lots of local artists, artisans, baked goods, silent auctions and more. INDOOR GARAGE SALE: will be held at George Ward Elementary on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Tygart Valley Little League and will feature numerous items and concessions. To donate, please contact a board member.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PICK-UP: Free jam sessions are held indoors Wednesday nights on the Davis & Elkins campus in the lobby of the Boiler House Theater. Sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and D&E College, and open to everyone, Country Music Jam Sessions take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Old-Time Music Jams take place from 7-9 p.m. All acoustic instruments are welcome. , as do singers, dancers and listeners.
