Kaduna government orders the closure of Living Faith, Deeper Life, ECWA and 10 other schools

Following a threat to the safety and kidnappings of schoolchildren in the state, the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority ordered the immediate closure of 13 schools located in areas vulnerable to bandit attacks.

A letter sent to owners of schools affected by the authority by the Director General, Umma K. Ahmed, said:

“Following information received by the Authority on the threat to security at Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, a meeting with the National Association of Private School Owners (NAPPS) and some key stakeholders was held on Monday July 5, 2021 with the resolution that the following schools should close as of Monday July 5, 2021.

With the letter titled “Notice of closure of some identified vulnerable schools,” the authority warned of sanctions against schools that do not comply.

Affected schools listed in the letter spotted by DAILY POST included: Faith Academy, along Kachia Road adjacent to Jakaranda, Deeper Life Academy, Maraban Rido, Ecwa Secondary School, Ungwar Maje and Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi.

The others are Saint-Pierre Minor Seminary, Katari, Prelude High School, Kujama, Ibiso High School, Tashar Iche, Tulip International School (boys) and Tulip International School (girls).

The list also includes Goodnews High School, St. Augustine, Kujama, Comprehensive Development Institution (CDI), Tudun Mare, and Adventist College, Kujama.

“You are advised to abide by the contents of this letter, as appropriate penalties will be imposed on schools found to be failing for non-compliance, please,” the letter warned.
