Letter: Funding Required to Convert Brosterfield Lands to “Wildwood”
This would meet our ambition to make it a meadow of woods and wild flowers, to beautify the landscape and to offer sustainable equipment to the local community.
We have already guaranteed a substantial amount of pledges and donations, and this year’s Foolow Well Dressing celebrated the project while raising several thousand pounds, thanks to local volunteers.
The project of planting and dedicating trees in the woods proved particularly popular and attracted interest from well-known charities Blythe House and Helen’s Trust.
They have expressed an interest in joining us, as planting a tree in memory of a loved one can be a perfect way to commemorate a life.
Together, we are always exploring ways to achieve our goal, through funding requests to the National Lottery and donations from companies, many of which want to get involved.
MP Sarah Dines and local councilor Alistair Sutton both visited the site and approved our plans. Sarah Dines even raised him in Westminster where he received approval.
All of this takes time, as we try to make a difference for our local community while preserving this part of the national park in line with local and national government goals.
